IPOH: Fire safety awareness, especially on preventing fires at home, should be instilled from an early age.
This helps nurture a sense of responsibility while encouraging children to appreciate the important role of firefighters.
To support this effort, the Tambun Fire and Rescue Station welcomed 23 kindergarten pupils and teachers from Tadika Al Baghadi for an introductory fire safety awareness programme.
Throughout the session, the young participants attended a fire safety talk focusing on fire prevention measures and the proper use of fire extinguishers.
To make the programme more engaging, the children also had the opportunity to wear firefighter uniforms, ride in a fire engine, and experience using a hose reel under the supervision of fire and rescue personnel.
Programmes such as these not only provide early exposure to fire safety practices but also help build awareness, confidence, and interest among children in the vital role firefighters play in protecting the community.
