By Aida Aziz

BATU GAJAH: The Batu Gajah Clock Tower is now illuminated every day from 7.30 pm to 1 am, adding vibrancy to the town at night.

According to the Batu Gajah District Council (MDBG), the nightly illumination not only brightens up the town but also highlights the clock tower as one of Batu Gajah’s landmarks.

The lighting ceremony was held recently in conjunction with the 2026 National Month celebrations.

It was one of MDBG’s initiatives to foster patriotism and love for the country among the local community.

The ceremony was officiated by Tronoh assemblyman Steven Tiw Tee Siang through a symbolic countdown before the lights illuminating the Batu Gajah Clock Tower were switched on.

Also present were Batu Gajah District Council secretary Muazatul Adawiyah Muhammad, councillors, agency representatives, community leaders and residents.

“The community can also enjoy the clock tower’s illuminated surroundings at night and capture memorable moments with family and friends.

“This programme reflects MDBG’s efforts to enliven the town, beautify local landmarks and foster unity and patriotism among the community.

“Come and enjoy the night-time atmosphere at the Batu Gajah Clock Tower,” it said.
