IPOH – Drain construction work in the Kinding area near Tanjung Rambutan here is currently underway to address flooding problems during heavy rain.
A site inspection found that the project involves the construction of a drain spanning approximately 200 metres.
MBI Councillors’ Chief Whip, Dato’ Mazlan Abd. Rahman, said funding for the project was allocated by the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) to the Ipoh City Council (MBI).

He said the construction work is expected to be completed within three months.
“The project is expected to improve the water drainage system in the residential areas around Kinding.
“Residents are also expected to no longer have to worry about flooding, which frequently occurs during heavy rain,” he said.

He earlier visited the construction site, accompanied by an MBI Drainage Division Assistant Engineer and the contractor.
Upon completion, the new drain is expected to improve water flow and reduce the risk of flooding.
Mazlan also expressed his appreciation to the Ipoh Mayor and MBI for their attention and action in addressing the issue.
Monitoring of the construction work will continue until the project is fully completed.
