IPOH: The deadline for payment of assessment tax for the second half of 2026 has been extended to Sept 30, the Ipoh City Council (MBI) said.
It said the extension was made to provide property owners and taxpayers with sufficient and reasonable time to settle their assessment tax payments.
The decision also took into account the current situation, including the implementation of the new assessment rates in July 2025, as well as prevailing economic conditions which have affected some city residents.
Therefore, taxpayers who still have outstanding assessment tax payments for the second half of this year are advised to take advantage of the extension and make their payments by Sept 30.
MBI also said an E-Notice charge would be imposed on accounts that remain unpaid after the extended deadline, effective Oct 1.
“MBI urges all property owners to check the status of their assessment tax and make payments within the stipulated period to avoid the imposition of the E-Notice charge and further action.
“The cooperation and concern shown by city residents in settling their assessment tax are greatly appreciated, as the revenue collected is important in supporting the provision and maintenance of municipal services and facilities for the well-being of all Ipoh residents,” it said.
