IPOH – The Ipoh City Council (MBI) received the Outstanding Member Promotion recognition at the TPO Excellence Awards 2026 held in Taichung, Taiwan, recently.
MBI City Secretary, A’zman Mohd Harun, represented Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah to receive the award.
The recognition was presented based on MBI’s track record and proactive commitment to participating in and implementing the agenda of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO).
MBI was also assessed on its initiatives, cooperation and continuous engagement in efforts to promote the tourism industry in Ipoh.
The achievement serves as a catalyst for MBI to further strengthen excellence in service delivery.
The efforts also aim to attract more tourists to visit Ipoh City.
MBI will continue to expand strategic partnerships with various stakeholders in the tourism sector.
At the same time, the adoption of new technologies and tourist-friendly practices will continue to be enhanced.
The initiative is in line with MBI’s aspiration to develop Ipoh into a safer, smarter and more tourist-friendly city.
