TAIPING – A total of RM1.65 million has been allocated for upgrading and improving infrastructure facilities at Taiping Hospital.
The matter was announced following a working visit to Taiping Hospital to assess outstanding issues and the hospital’s current needs.
The briefing was led by Taiping Hospital Director, Dr Khuzaini Abd Karim, and was also attended by Perak State Health Department Deputy Director (Management), Velan A/L Supramaniam.
The allocation approved by the Ministry of Health (MOH) involves upgrading, renovation and repair works at the hospital.
Among the areas receiving attention are healthcare facilities, toilets and several other related infrastructure components.
Special Officer to Deputy Prime Minister II, Neow Choo Seong, expressed his appreciation to Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad for approving the allocation.
He also commended the MOH for its concern and follow-up action on complaints raised by members of the public.
According to him, the initiative demonstrates the MOH’s commitment to addressing challenges previously faced by Taiping Hospital.
“Appreciation is also extended to all Taiping Hospital staff who remain committed to providing healthcare services to the community.
“Taiping Hospital is one of the important healthcare institutions providing services to residents of Taiping and its surrounding areas.
“With the allocation, infrastructure deficiencies are expected to be improved while enhancing the efficiency of hospital management,” he said.
At the same time, the comfort and welfare of patients and Taiping Hospital staff are expected to remain a priority.
Earlier, Neow conducted a visit to Taiping Hospital to gain an overview of the existing conditions and facilities at the hospital.
