IPOH: Tronoh State Assemblyman (ADUN) Steven Tiw Tee Siang has shown his support for a young athlete from SK Siputeh by donating a pair of court shoes to help him prepare for the Majlis Sukan Sekolah Malaysia (MSSM).

Muhammad Naufal Ikhwan was selected to represent Perak in the Under-12 boys’ handball event, making history as the first student from SK Siputeh in many years to qualify for the prestigious national school sports competition.

However, Naufal faced a challenge as he did not have suitable court shoes for training and competing in the tournament.

After being informed of his situation by a teacher, Steven stepped in to help by presenting Naufal with a new pair of court shoes.

Steven said he hoped the contribution would enable Naufal to train and compete more comfortably and confidently.

“For me, financial constraints or a lack of facilities should not prevent our children from developing their talents and pursuing their dreams,” he said.

He also hoped that more young people in the area would be given the necessary support and opportunities to excel in sports.

Recently, Naufal and his team advanced to the quarter-finals of the MSSM tournament, demonstrating the potential he possesses.

Although they did not win a medal, Naufal’s achievement in representing SK Siputeh and Perak at the national level is a commendable accomplishment worthy of recognition.

Steven expressed hope that Naufal would continue working hard to improve his performance and remain determined in pursuing greater success in the future.
