MANJUNG – The Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) has received the 2026 National ASEAN Tourism Standards Award in the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Standard category.

The recognition was presented at a ceremony held at Dewan Sanggar Pujangga, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC), in Putrajaya on Thursday.

MPM President Muhammad Faizal Shah Safian Suri received the plaque and certificate of appreciation from MOTAC Secretary-General Datuk Shaharuddin Abu Sohot.

The award qualifies MPM for recognition for a three-year period from 2026 to 2028.

These efforts also support tourism development in Manjung, positioning the district as a clean, comfortable and welcoming destination.

MPM also expressed its appreciation to government agencies, strategic partners, the local community and visitors for their collective efforts in maintaining the cleanliness of the municipal area.

MPM emphasised that preserving the cleanliness and attractiveness of the town requires cooperation from all parties and is not solely the responsibility of the local authority.

The recognition is expected to boost tourists’ confidence in Manjung as a quality tourism destination.

MPM will continue to strengthen urban management and support sustainable tourism development for the benefit of the community and visitors.
