Bring the Kids! Seri Botani International School’s Big Day Out

By Anne Das

Looking for somewhere to take the family this November? Seri Botani International School (SBIS) is opening its doors to the Ipoh community for a day of food, games, cultural activities and plenty of family fun.

The school’s Community Day & Open Day 2026 takes place on Saturday, 21st November, from 9am to 2pm. And while the children enjoy the festivities, parents will have an opportunity to explore what the school has to offer.

Held under the theme ‘One SBIS, One Community’, the event welcomes families from across Ipoh to spend the day together, discover new experiences and get to know the school.

Following the success of its 2025 Charity Bazaar, SBIS is bringing back the community atmosphere with an expanded event that combines family entertainment with educational discovery.

This year, visitors can explore five activity zones featuring Food & Vendors, Sports & Games, Student Booths, Cultural Booths and Family Activities.

There will be plenty to keep everyone occupied, whether it’s sampling something delicious, joining a game, browsing student-run booths or enjoying the cultural showcases.

It’s also a chance for children to experience the school environment in a relaxed, informal setting, alongside their families.

Visitors planning to enjoy the food and activities can purchase event coupons in advance from the SBIS Bookshop, open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 3pm.

An Open Day for Parents

For parents considering their children’s education, particularly those exploring a school change for 2027, the Open Day offers another reason to visit.

SBIS follows the Cambridge International curriculum, providing education from Early Years through to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE).

The school’s educational approach centres on three principles: Known. Challenged. Prepared.

The philosophy begins with recognising every child as an individual. Teachers seek to understand each student’s strengths, learning needs and abilities, providing support while encouraging confidence and personal growth.

Students are also encouraged to challenge themselves through academic learning, problem-solving and practical experiences that develop curiosity, independence and critical thinking.

Beyond academic achievement, the school places importance on developing character, responsibility, leadership and the skills needed to prepare students for life beyond the classroom.

During the Open Day, interested parents can find out more about the school’s programmes, teaching approach and learning environment. It is also an opportunity to speak with the admissions team and explore whether SBIS would be a suitable choice for your children.

Special Offers for New Registrations

With applications for the January 2027 intake now open, SBIS is offering exclusive incentives for families registering on the day.

These include a 50% registration fee waiver, an application fee waiver, a lucky draw and a free gift.

Whether you’re considering a new school for your child or simply looking for an enjoyable family outing, the event offers a little something for everyone.

Mark your calendars and come along!
