TAIPING: A cash prize of RM2,000 awaits the winner of a logo and slogan design contest in conjunction with the 65th-anniversary celebration of Zoo Taiping & Night Safari (ZTNS) in 2026.
Organized by the Taiping Municipal Council (MPT), the competition aims to create a logo and slogan that reflect the zoo’s historical significance, biodiversity, and role as Malaysia’s oldest zoo.
According to MPT President Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir, in addition to the grand prize, five consolation prizes of RM100 each will also be awarded.
“The competition runs from March 7 to April 7, 2025.
“We encourage creative participation from the public to enhance the celebration of ZTNS’ 65th anniversary and Visit Malaysia Year 2026 as a symbol of national heritage and biodiversity.
“Further details and participation guidelines will be announced via MPT and ZTNS’ official platforms,” he said.
Meanwhile, MPT has launched a new Taiping tourism map equipped with a QR code that provides local and international visitors with information on must-visit attractions.
This initiative aligns with efforts to position Taiping as a premier tourist destination for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.
Khairul Amir said the map is available in both Malay and English.
“This map is designed to help visitors explore Taiping’s historical and tourism sites, as well as the best dining and accommodation options.
“More than just a regular map, the ‘Fun Map Fascinating Taiping’ features a QR code that allows users to access additional digital content,” he added.
The map is available at the Taiping Municipal Gallery on Jalan Stesen (Taiping Tourism Information Centre) or can be downloaded online.
