IPOH: A total of 63 members of the Perak State Youth Assembly for the 2023/2024 session were honored at an appreciation ceremony attended by the Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.
The event was held to recognize their contributions during their leadership term in voicing the concerns and aspirations of the youth.
The Perak State Youth Assembly program consists of 59 members representing state constituencies (DUN), while 4 members represent agencies in the state of Perak.
Established by the Perak state government in 2016, the program aims to involve local youth in contributing ideas and idealism toward the development and prosperity of the state.
Its objective is to nurture and sharpen new leadership talents as the next generation of future leaders.
Meanwhile, Saarani in his speech at the event expressed his appreciation to all DBP representatives who successfully completed their term.
Throughout the fourth session, they successfully carried out 24 programs.
These initiatives demonstrate that when given the space and trust, young people are capable of driving change.
The platform provided has also been effectively used by them to discuss and highlight youth-related issues in the state.
