AB Blood Supply Low, Public Urged to Come Forward and Help

By Zaki Salleh

IPOH: The Blood Transfusion Centre at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HPRB) in Ipoh is currently facing a shortage of AB blood supply.

In response, the hospital is appealing to members of the public with AB blood type to come forward and donate.

According to a statement issued by the hospital, the supply of AB blood has decreased and is insufficient to meet the needs of patients who require it.

“AB blood is very limited as it is the rarest blood type.

“We sincerely hope that donors with AB blood will come forward immediately to donate and help save lives,” the statement said.

In addition to participating in blood donation drives held at selected locations around Ipoh, the public is also encouraged to go directly to the Blood Transfusion Centre at HPRB Ipoh.

The centre is equipped with comfortable facilities, an air-conditioned waiting area, and ample parking for donors’ convenience.
