Rusty leaning pole in Taman Pari repaired after safety concerns raised

By: Zaki Salleh

IPOH: A rusty metal pole that was leaning dangerously close to a house in Taman Pari here has been repaired following swift action by Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

The repair came after the matter was brought to the attention of Penang Island City Council (MBPP) councillor Lawrence Palanisamy.

Although a complaint had been lodged earlier, no action was taken until last week.

Lawrence said he acted immediately after receiving information from the affected resident.

“Once I was informed, I relayed the complaint to several relevant agencies, including TM, TNB and the Ipoh City Council (MBI), to identify the party responsible for the pole,” he said.

Checks revealed that the pole belonged to TNB.

TNB then took prompt action to resolve the matter, eliminating the safety risk to residents in the area.

Lawrence and the resident expressed their appreciation to TNB for their cooperation and quick response.

He said this incident demonstrated how cooperation between residents, community representatives and relevant agencies could result in quick and effective solutions for public safety and well-being.
