Taiping Development Projects Underway, Government Allocates RM10.4 Million

TAIPING: A total of RM10.39 million has been allocated for development projects in Taiping through the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), involving five departments and agencies.

The allocation includes RM4.1 million for nine urban infrastructure upgrading projects in Taiping, covering markets, drainage systems, CCTV installations, and flood mitigation efforts.

An additional RM500,000 has been designated for landscaping development at Tanjung Sungai Mas, while RM2.21 million is allocated for the maintenance of 22 non-Islamic places of worship (RIBI).

Furthermore, RM3.57 million has been set aside for 25 new housing construction projects and the development of new villages.

Earlier, the Minister of KPKT, Ngar Kor Ming, continued the KPKT “Sentuhan Kasih” (Touch of Love) Tour in Taiping by inspecting six out of 35 development projects.

The visit began at the Kamunting Public Market and the Kamunting Station Road Hawker Centre, both currently undergoing upgrades.

Also visited was the flood mitigation project in Taman Kamunting Maju, aimed at resolving 30 years of recurring flood issues in the area.

The tour continued with a visit to the MADANI Park at Taiping Lake Gardens and the Fountain Project, symbolizing the 150th anniversary of Taiping Town.

This project aims to beautify the park’s landscape and enhance its appeal to tourists.
