The PWW (Perak Women for Women Society) Book & Café Corner at the Perak Turf Club Equestrian Centre opens on weekends from 8.30am to 1pm, except on race days when the grounds are closed for equestrian events.
If you are unsure whether they are open or what is on the menu, check their Facebook page before you head over. Visitors are welcomed with freshly prepared favourites and the warm smiles of the women who make it all happen.
This outdoor café sits in a beautiful, tree-filled space where horses graze and birds call. Arrive early and you might see horses warming up in the paddocks before the sun gets too hot.
The menu is well received for its seafood curry mee with fresh mantis prawns from Pantai Remis. There is also nasi lemak with rendang, fried mee hoon, curry chicken, and Puri with Potato Masala and Mango Chutney. You might also find mee siam, pancakes, sandwiches, and freshly baked cakes.
The food is cooked and served by women from the PWW Baking and Cook Team. Many trained through PWW’s Baking Studio and now earn an income through this café and its catering orders.
Bring the family. After breakfast, the kids or you can hop on a pony ride for RM15 at the equestrian centre. There are also a few cozy book corners on site for reading and relaxing. PWW welcomes gently used books to grow their collection. Fiction, magazines, and coffee table reads are especially appreciated.
Catering Menus Now Available for Events in Ipoh
The PWW Book Café team has expanded beyond its weekend service, now offering catering for private functions, government events, and small group celebrations in Ipoh. Their new hi- tea menu features a tempting mix of sweet and savoury dishes, and they also cater for breakfast, lunch, or dinner menus to suit your occasion.
“Our café has proven that food can be a bridge, connecting communities, creating income, and preserving tradition. Catering takes this further, giving our women greater reach and a stronger voice in the local economy,” said PWW’s President, Sumathi Sivamany.
Catering menus start at RM30 per person for a minimum of 50 guests. Breakfast, lunch, hi tea, and dinner menus are available. Bookings are required in advance. The team will work with you to plan a menu that suits your occasion, whether for businesses, events, or private homes in Ipoh.
