IPOH: Not only are the roads patched up, but they are further worsened by sunken and hazardous bumps, posing a danger to regular road users along Pekan Razaki here.

Some residents even claim that the bumps, which have lost their markings, are extremely dangerous, especially when drivers speed through the area.

One resident of Pekan Razaki, who wished to be known as Rahmat, said he personally witnessed an incident where a car almost “flew” over a bump because the driver didn’t notice it.

“The uneven roads here have been a problem for a long time, you can clearly see it when driving along the road in Pekan Razaki.

“Even though there are bump signs, sometimes people don’t notice them, and the bumps here have lost their markings and are uneven,” he told Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic.

Another resident hopes the road will be repaired soon as it is a major route for vehicles.

“The issue with the bumps here is real. Many cars scrape because the bumps are uneven and sunken.

“Even during the day, many cars nearly ‘fly’ over them. Imagine how it is at night, especially for those who are unfamiliar with this route.

“The authorities should repair this road properly and not just patch certain parts. The result is that the road becomes worse and more uneven. This area is busy every day and is a major connecting route to many villages,” he expressed.

An observation by Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic around the roads in Pekan Razaki found that it is high time the road is repaired to reduce the risk of accidents, particularly at the bumps, which clearly need proper markings to alert drivers to slow down.
