Two Injured After Light Aircraft Crash at Tekah Airport

TAIPING: Residents living near Tekah Airport were alarmed after witnessing a microlight-type light aircraft involved in an accident.

The incident occurred yesterday morning at around 10.30 a.m., involving two individuals who sustained injuries.

Both victims, aged in their 40s, have been identified and were rushed to Taiping Hospital for treatment.

Taiping District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Nasir Ismail, said in a statement that the police received an emergency call regarding the incident and deployed personnel to conduct inspections.

“Upon receiving the emergency information, Taiping District Police personnel rushed to the location to carry out monitoring and preliminary investigations.

“The police will continue to monitor the situation from time to time and provide updates to relevant agencies to ensure the safety of local residents,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) informed that it received an emergency call via the NG999 system at 10.13 a.m.

A fire engine with personnel from the Taiping Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene about five minutes later.

Upon arrival, both victims — flight instructor Mohd Faizal Mohd Sayed, 48, and trainee Kumar Amit, 40 — were reported to have exited the crashed aircraft and suffered leg fractures.

No fire was detected on the aircraft.
