IPOH — Yayasan Perak has completed the handover of a Multisensory Integration Room at Sekolah Kebangsaan Coronation Park here as part of the implementation of the Naungan Kasih Autism Programme.
The initiative aims to provide learning support that is better suited and more accessible to students with special needs on the autism spectrum, particularly within a safe and conducive school environment.
Yayasan Perak general manager Dr Nasreen Khanum Nawab Zadah Khan said the provision of a multisensory room in schools is among the practical approaches to help students better manage their emotions.


She added that the facilities in the room also help improve focus while supporting students’ overall learning well-being.
“The Naungan Kasih Autism Programme is carried out through collaboration between Pertubuhan Wanita Prihatin Perak, the Perak State Education Department and Yayasan Perak.
“Its focus is on providing learning support that can be utilised continuously at the school level,” she said.


Also present at the handover ceremony was Senior Assistant Director of the Special Education Sector at the Perak State Education Department, Eni Zanifah Mohd Jaberi.
Nasreen Khanum added that Yayasan Perak will continue to remain committed to supporting the educational needs of students with special needs through practical, collaboration-based approaches.
