KAMPAR — Gua Tempurung, one of Perak’s well-known eco-tourism destinations, is set to undergo a transformation phase expected to serve as a key driver for the state’s tourism sector.
This follows the signing of a concession agreement between MajuPerak Holdings Berhad (MHB) and the Kampar District Council (MDKpr).

The 21-year concession covers an area of 32.18 hectares, with the development to be carried out in phases, focusing primarily on upgrading infrastructure and public facilities.
The move aims to ensure the tourist destination is managed in a more systematic, safe and sustainable manner, in line with established standards.
While preserving the natural beauty of Gua Tempurung, the transformation project will also introduce nature-based accommodation concepts as well as a range of exciting adventure and recreational activities for visitors.

Technological elements will also be incorporated to enhance the visitor experience, including interactive visual displays, infographics and modern lighting systems designed to bring the cave environment to life.
The state government has given its assurance that every aspect of the development will be subject to strict approvals and compliance with safety standards.
This approach is intended to ensure that the unique natural ecosystem of Gua Tempurung continues to be preserved and remains unaffected by development activities.
With the implementation of this transformation, Gua Tempurung is expected to emerge as a more modern and attractive tourist destination, delivering positive economic impact to both Perak and the local community.
