KAMPAR – The Kampar District Council (MDK) will carry out a Free Bulk Waste Collection Programme for residents within its jurisdiction in conjunction with the 2026 Chinese New Year celebrations.
The programme will run from February 2 to 13, 2026, according to designated zones, and aims to help the community clean their homes ahead of the festive season.
Residents are encouraged to contact the responsible officers to schedule the collection date and time. Items eligible for collection include wardrobes, sofas, mattresses, and other household furniture that are no longer in use. All furniture must be dismantled, neatly stacked, and tied before being placed in front of the house.
MDK emphasised that tree branches, construction waste, and e-waste are not included in the collection. Residents are also advised to adhere to the collection schedule and place items one day in advance. Any enquiries can be directed to the assigned council officers in each zone.
The council urged residents to cooperate in making the programme a success and to practice proper waste segregation for a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
