IPOH, Feb 23 — The Panjut and Decorative Lighting Competition in Kampung Pasir Puteh will return this year to enliven the village atmosphere.


The event aims to enhance the surroundings with traditional lights and the creativity of local residents.
Participation is now open to all residents of Kampung Pasir Puteh and entry is free.
Judging will be held on March 19, 2026, while the closing date for entries is set for March 10, 2026.
Organisers are offering attractive cash prizes to winners, with RM1,000 for first place, RM700 for second, RM500 for third and RM300 for fourth.
The competition seeks to revive the tradition of installing panjut (traditional oil lamps) and decorating homes with festive lighting, while fostering closer ties among villagers.

Residents are encouraged to take part in the competition to brighten the village with their creativity and festive illumination.
The event is also expected to make Kampung Pasir Puteh more vibrant ahead of the festive season.
