KAMPAR: Persons with disabilities (OKU) cardholders will be exempted from parking charges if they park their vehicles at designated OKU parking bays.

The Kampar District Council said in a statement that the exemption does not apply if the vehicle is parked at public parking bays within the district.

It said the exemption is only given to OKU cardholders registered with the Department of Social Welfare Malaysia.

“It is only applicable to vehicles displaying a valid physical OKU sticker and parked at OKU bays within the operational areas of the Kampar District Council.

“Enforcement action will be taken if there is misuse of the parking facility or if it is used by unauthorised individuals, and this exemption will remain in effect until December 31, 2026,” it said.

The council added that the promotion is only open to new applicants, and customers who are currently enjoying a 20 per cent discounted monthly parking pass are not eligible to participate until the pass expires.
