IPOH: Jelapang State Assemblyman (ADUN), Cheah Pou Hian, hosted a Ramadan iftar with Perak media practitioners to strengthen ties and foster closer collaboration.

The event, held in a relaxed setting at Miker Food, Kinta Riverwalk, saw the participation of 20 media personnel from outlets including Ipoh Echo, Peraktastic, Utusan Malaysia, Kosmo, Bernama, and Sinar Harian.

Cheah said the iftar was organised as a token of appreciation for the important role played by the media in delivering information to the public.

“Events like this not only recognise the media’s commitment to providing accurate information to the people, but also serve as a platform to strengthen friendships and the spirit of camaraderie,” he said.

He added that after breaking fast, participants exchanged views on current developments, with many valuable suggestions shared by media colleagues to further progress Jelapang.

Cheah also took the opportunity to share ongoing development projects and upcoming initiatives in the Jelapang area.

The informal discussion touched on several current issues of concern to the local and state community.

He said such programmes should continue in the future to foster closer ties between community leaders and media practitioners, ensuring that information is effectively conveyed to the public.
