TAIPING: Illegal dumping at the Roll-On Roll-Off (RORO) waste disposal site in Kampung Aulong Lama has long been a source of frustration for residents.

Irresponsible actions by certain individuals have left the area in an unsightly condition, with scattered rubbish not only marring the surroundings but also posing health risks and affecting the comfort of nearby communities.
To address the issue, the Taiping Parliamentary Office, in collaboration with the Taiping Municipal Council (MPT), installed closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at the location last Friday.

In a statement, MPT said the installation is intended to monitor and curb unethical waste disposal activities.
The council added that the initiative also aims to enhance safety and improve the well-being of residents.
MPT stressed that stricter enforcement will be carried out to address the problem, including actions against individuals who dump rubbish outside the designated RORO bins.
Action will also be taken against those who pile waste along public roads.
