Yayasan Ipoh (YI) hosted the Sungai Siput Chess Club Feat. Yayasan Ipoh Chess Tournament 2026 on 28 March. Organised by the Perak Chess Association, it was a battle for the Dato’ Dr. Ramanathan Cup.
The competition featured players from both the Open and Under 12 categories, including the OKU category, competing for an overall prize pool worth RM4600.00.
From the start of the morning at 8.30 am until the end at 5.00 pm, the competition hall was packed with players, who were nonetheless, comfortably protected from the scorching weather of the recent heatwave.
There were 180 participants, with 20 OKU participants.
