Bagan Datuk Volunteer Firefighters Receive New Vehicle, Operational Equipment

By: Zaki Salleh

BAGAN DATUK — Volunteer firefighter teams play a vital role in supporting fire suppression and emergency response operations, particularly in rural areas with limited access to comprehensive fire services.

These volunteer and community firefighting teams often serve as the frontline during emergencies, and at times their assistance is sought even in major fire incidents.

Given their importance, the Perak Fire and Rescue Department continues to prioritise support for volunteer firefighter units, including in terms of assets and resources.

This commitment was reflected today as the Bagan Datuk Volunteer Firefighting Team (PBS) received a new vehicle along with operational gear and attire.

The handover enhances the team’s preparedness and strengthens their capability in carrying out operational tasks, including prevention efforts, firefighting, and emergency assistance to the local community.

The equipment handover was officiated by Perak Fire and Rescue Department director, Datuk Sayani Saidon.

The provision of new assets and equipment is expected to further empower the Bagan Datuk volunteer team in fulfilling their responsibilities effectively and ensuring the safety of the community remains safeguarded.
