KUALA LUMPUR: The Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) will provide monthly assistance to the family of Amirul Hafiz Omar, 33, who died after being hit by a drunk driver in Klang, Selangor.

Perkeso chief executive officer, Mohammed Azman Aziz Mohammed, confirmed the matter.

He said Amirul Hafiz’s family will receive a monthly payment of RM2,888.17, with his wife eligible for lifelong benefits, while his children will receive assistance until they reach 21 years of age.

He added that the late Amirul Hafiz’s employer, TVH Malaysia, had consistently contributed to Perkeso for 15 years, making the family eligible for the full pension rate.

“The deceased was a loyal employee, and his employer was very responsible.

“His contributions were complete and uninterrupted, which is why we are able to provide full pension benefits to his dependents to help secure the family’s future,” he said in a statement.

Besides the monthly pension, Perkeso also provided RM3,000 in funeral management benefits, as well as guaranteed education loan assistance for the children when they pursue higher education.

In the incident at about 11.40am last Sunday, Amirul Hafiz died at the scene after his motorcycle was rammed by a car driven by a suspect believed to be speeding in the opposite lane towards Klang town centre.

He leaves behind his wife and three children aged 2, 7 and 9.
