JomBantu Provides Patient Bed to Young Stroke Survivor

IPOH:  Caring for the community is a key pillar in building a more compassionate and resilient society.

Although modest in scale, this commitment is demonstrated by the Pertubuhan Kebajikan dan Kemajuan Komuniti Bandar Ipoh through its JomBantu initiative.

JomBantu is spearheaded by the Persatuan Usahawan Bersatu Ipoh Perak (PUBI Perak).

The initiative recently strengthened its welfare efforts by delivering a patient bed to a 38-year-old man who has been bedridden following a stroke.

The request for assistance was made by the patient’s mother to ease the daily care of her son at home.

The patient’s bed was handed over by the JomBantu team to provide greater comfort for the patient while helping to reduce the burden on his family.

The initiative is part of the welfare programmes carried out under the PUBI Group to assist those in need.

PUBI Group Chairman, Sharul Baha Abd Rahman, said every organisation should play a social role in supporting communities facing hardship.

He added that the welfare effort reflects JomBantu’s ongoing commitment to caring for the less fortunate.

“Through the JomBantu Patient Bed Rental Programme, patient beds are provided at a nominal fee of just RM1 per month to help low-income families.

“The programme aims to ensure that more patients in need can access proper home-care equipment without having to bear high costs,” he said.

Members of the public who know of individuals in need of similar assistance are encouraged to contact JomBantu at 012-566 9310 (Nafis) or 018-669 4149 (Farah) so that support can be provided according to available resources.
