MANJUNG: A total of 13 stray dogs captured during a stray animal control operation have been handed over to the Manjung Stray Animal Welfare and Voice Association.
The Manjung Municipal Council (MPM) said the strategic collaboration between MPM and the association began on May 20 as part of efforts to strengthen the management of stray animals more responsibly and systematically.
The handover was received by the association’s vice-chairperson, Joanne.
“The transfer of the dogs to the association is aimed at ensuring proper care, treatment and relocation in a more organised and humane manner.
“To date, a total of 31 dogs captured through stray animal control operations carried out by MPM have been handed over to the Manjung Stray Animal Welfare and Voice Association.
“MPM expresses its highest appreciation and gratitude to the Manjung Stray Animal Welfare and Voice Association for its cooperation and commitment in assisting efforts to manage stray animals,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, members of the public praised and welcomed the local authority’s initiative in safeguarding the welfare of stray animals in Perak.
