IPOH: The iconic IPOH sign at Gunung Lang, which was removed in mid-July, will be reinstalled from September 29 to 30 (Tuesday and Wednesday), according to the Ipoh City Council (MBI).
In a statement on Saturday, MBI said it would carry out the work after site visits and coordination with the relevant parties and the appointed contractor to ensure the iconic landmark remains in good, safe, and well-maintained condition.
“MBI wishes to inform that repair works on the IPOH sign landmark at Gunung Lang will be carried out from Sept 28 to 30.
“According to the schedule, a crane will be brought into the site on September 28, while the reinstallation of the IPOH sign will take place from September 29 to 30,” it said.
Members of the public, particularly motorists and residents around Gunung Lang and Jalan Kuala Kangsar, are advised to exercise caution when passing through the area throughout the works.
MBI said it would issue notification notices to nearby premises and relevant parties to ensure the works could be carried out in an orderly and safe manner.
It added that the repair works were part of MBI’s ongoing efforts to ensure the city’s facilities and landmarks remained in good condition, while preserving Ipoh’s image and appeal.
“MBI seeks the cooperation and understanding of all parties regarding any temporary inconvenience that may occur throughout the implementation of the works,” it said.
