IPOH – The Futsal Madani Tambun tournament was held in a lively atmosphere at X Park Tambun, featuring 14 participating teams in conjunction with the Malaysia Day and National Day celebrations.
The event was organised by the Chairman of the Tambun Parliamentary Constituency Proactive People’s Organisation, Kalaimughilan Arjunan, who is also Deputy Chief of the PKR Tambun Branch.
The tournament not only provided an opportunity for youths to adopt a healthy lifestyle but also fostered the spirit of sportsmanship and patriotism.
It also served as a platform to strengthen ties among people of various ethnic backgrounds through sports activities in a relaxed and spirited atmosphere.
Kalaimughilan said programmes such as this were important to ensure that good relations among communities of different races continued to be preserved.
He said sports could serve as a medium to unite the community regardless of background or ethnicity.
The programme was also attended by Asyhraf Kahasani, representative of Senator Mohamad Hairul Amir Sabri, and MBI Councillor Shamsul Kamar.
Also adding excitement to the tournament was a veteran football team from Negeri Sembilan.
In the tournament, Unity FC emerged as champions, taking home RM1,000 in prize money, along with a trophy and medals.
Suria FC finished second and received RM700, while third-placed Footsala FC took home RM500.
Suria DR finished fourth and received RM200, while trophies and medals were also presented to the respective teams.
Programmes of this nature are hoped to be held more frequently to strengthen bonds, foster unity and encourage a healthy lifestyle among the community.
