IPOH – Those interested in learning more about the marine industry, particularly students, will have an opportunity to gain valuable insights through the Marine STEM Discovery Challenge (MSDC) 2026.

The programme aims to provide students with an opportunity to explore the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), particularly marine technology.
MSDC 2026 is organised by Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET) in collaboration with the Perak State Public Library Corporation.
It will be held at the Perak State Public Library and Digital, Ipoh, on November 7, from 9am to 1pm.
The programme aims to expose participants to the practical applications of STEM knowledge in marine engineering and technology.
Through interactive and hands-on activities, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their creativity and problem-solving skills.
In addition, the programme serves as a platform to identify young talents and encourage greater interest among the younger generation in marine technology.
Participants will also be able to explore new ideas through challenges that combine innovation, design and engineering elements.
The initiative is in line with efforts to expand STEM learning through more creative, enjoyable and experience-based approaches.
MSDC 2026 is expected to inspire greater interest among the younger generation in exploring the potential and career opportunities available in the country’s maritime industry.
