  • Rotary Club present: Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)

    “He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life”, Living legend, heavyweight champion and inspiring idol to many, Muhammad Ali. Calling out to aspiring young leaders, mark your calendar! Rotary Clubs is conducting its Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) from January 28 until 31 at the Outward Bound Malaysia, Lumut, a leadership programme that is definitely not to be missed by those who are keen on improving their leadership and social skills! The four days three night affair will be packed with forums, discussions, workshops, outdoor activities and many more! Get ready to be inspired by a list of experienced speakers that will blow your mind with topics such as ‘The Fundamentals of Leadership’, ‘Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Leader’ and ‘The Power of One’ by DT Dato’ Dr Siva Ananthan where you can explore your inner strength and master what it takes to be a strong leader. Dr Siva will also be moderating an open forum for a Q&A session; a chance to discuss more on leadership and other important aspects in life.  Participants of RYLA will also be briefed about Rotary : a worldwide international organisation of business and professional leaders who are keen on contributing humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards and help to achieve peace in the world. Together with ground orientation and ice breaking sessions, participants will learn a thing or two about map and compass reading. RYLA attendees will also get to undergo Rotary’s 4 Way Test & Ethics; a test about the things we think, say or do. Be sure to take part in the discussion entitled ‘The Elements of Community & Global Citizenship’ and venture into what it takes to be part of community and above all ,how to serve. Aside from motivational discussions and forums, get ready to test  your physical strength and bathe yourself in the beautiful scenery of Lumut while getting involved in team dynamics activities such as water rafting, kayaking, indoor wall climbing and other fun-filled arrangements designed exclusively for RYLA. A barbecue session and celebration dinner to appreciate the hard work of those who took part in RYLA will be held on the last night of RYLA. Attendees of RYLA will be receiving pins and pledges during the closing ceremony.
