Motivational Camp for Students

St Bernadette’s Convent School, Batu Gajah organised a motivational camp recently, specifically for students who will be sitting for the upcoming Ujian Peperiksaan Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination.

The motivational camp was held at Kem Murni in Gopeng, a joint effort by teachers of the school and members of the Parent-Teacher Association.

According to the principal, Hajjah Shariffah Hafidzah binti Meorhass, the objectives of the camp were three-fold, to improve students’ performance in the examination, to instil confidence and to provide them with invaluable tips.

Some of the factors required to achieve success are motivation, confidence and hard work. With the right kind of support, a person could go a long way. “The reason why we chose to have it outside of the school compound is because the open surroundings will have a positive impact on their well-being,” she told Ipoh Echo. “And hiring outside trainers and facilitators will relieve the pressure for students as a new face is a welcome feature indeed,” she added.

Organising chairman, Azizul Azki bin Ahmad, said that other activities are in the pipeline as a follow-up to the camp to better prepare the students for the examination.  A total of 127 participants took part in the 2-day camp, along with six teachers and 14 members of the Parent-Teacher Association.
