A New Year Wish

The cheering from excited young children reverberated through the Oncology Daycare Ward, Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Ipoh during Pantai Hospital Ipoh’s New Year Wish party. Sixty five children from the Oncology and Thalassaemia Daycare Unit were treated to a whole morning of fun and games by staff of Pantai Hospital Ipoh.

The event kicked off with an icebreaker followed by the appearance of Amy The Clown who simply mesmerized the children with exciting balloon sculptures. The all-time fun games like mystery parcel, musical chairs, word puzzle mix and chopstick challenge simply warmed up the children with squeals of laughter.

The merry entrance of Santa Claus and automated sleigh enthralled the children. Santa’s spontaneous jokes and fun with the children liven up the atmosphere. The sleigh made from recyclable wood by Pantai Hospital Ipoh Bio-Engineering team led by Mr Ganesan Satimuti entertained children on its automated movement and agility. Highlights of the party were the presentation of gifts and birthday celebration of children born in December.

Dr Chua Bee Sim speaking on behalf of Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun Ipoh Pengarah and also Cancerlink Society said, “A New Year Wish is a wonderful event that ensures these children experience the joy of year-end festivities and spirit of giving and receiving.” Dr Chua said, “It is heart-warming to see joy on faces of children, reflecting the generosity of PHI and its commitment to the community.”
