Youth Ambassadors Visit NKF Ipoh

The youth ambassadors for National Kidney Foundation (NKF), Rejuvenate Dance Crew (RJVN) and world current fourth celebrity beatboxer, Shawn Lee paid a visit to NKF Ipoh at Jalan Chung Ah Ming on October 31.

The visit to the centre was the first pit stop for the talented lads who were trying to raise awareness on kidney diseases. Not only were the patients of the centre treated with exclusive performances by RJVN and Shawn, they also received special goodie bags.

Founded in 1969, NKF has more than 1500 patients receiving subsidised dialysis treatments in 27 dialysis centres nationwide. Each patient has to endure at least four hours of dialysis treatment, three times a week or 13 times a month, for life. Although the treatments have been subsidised by NKF, many still had to choose between their daily basic necessities and much needed life-saving dialysis treatment as they generally come from the lower income group.

“I have heard and seen stories of those who are suffering from kidney diseases. It’s a lifetime disease and more and more youngsters are getting it,” said Shawn Lee who brought Malaysia’s name to fame when he won fourth place in the World Beatbox Championship in Germany in 2012.

“With RJVN, I hope we get to raise more awareness on keeping your kidneys healthy, especially among school and college students,” added Shawn.

Schools and colleges in Perak who are interested to invite Shawn Lee and RJVN to their respective institution for a talk or exhibition, please send the request via email to contact@giant-ants.com or call 014 600 0003.
