CNY Celebration at Ipoh Parade

As everyone prepared to usher in the Year of the Fire Monkey, Ipoh Parade decked out completely in red with its Prosperity Garden theme to welcome another auspicious year. Shoppers  got the chance to get up close and personal with an array of cheeky monkey characters as part of Ipoh Parade’s Chinese New Year decorations this year. The Prosperity Garden featured the Prosperity Monkey, Longevity Monkey, Harmony Monkey, Fortune Monkey and Happy Monkey, each of which is believed to bring in good luck, good health, wealth, prosperity, and a joyful year ahead for all.

Exciting performances for shoppers included the Shaolin Kung Fu Performance, China Acrobatic Show, Southern & Northern Acrobatic Lion & Dragon Dance, 24 Seasons Drum, and Rhythmic Latin Dance. Also movie promotional tours for films such as “Huat The Fish” “Let’s Eat” and Red Red People Red Red Year CNY Album Tour as well as an Oldies Singing Contest as part of the “Old Town Story” movie promo on February 13 was on the programme.

Jaya Grocer which opened recently offered CNY promotions on selected items such as Mandarin oranges, gift hampers, cookies, and Banana Leaf Nian Gao for shoppers to enjoy.

“Chinese New Year is always celebrated with a bang here in Ipoh as we look forward to a great number of city dwellers from the south coming back to spend time with their families,” commented Chan Yu Yin, Ipoh Parade’s Centre Manager. “At Ipoh Parade, we strive to provide the best in retail for the festive season.
