Over 270 students from secondary and primary schools received assistance in conjunction with the “Back to School 2018 Programme” sponsored by Solid Waste Corporation (SWCorp) Perak, E-Idaman, Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council and the Adun (state assemblyman) of Bukit Chandan.
The aids were presented by Hj Maslin Sham bin Razman, Bukit Chandan state assemblyman during a ceremony held at the Perak Jubilee Hall, Kuala Kangsar on Monday, January 15.
Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council Secretary, Ayub Shadan Abdul Rani and State Director of SWCorp, Hajjah Fatimah Hj Ahmad, were among those present at the ceremony.
Consisting of a school bag and RM50 given to each recipient the contributions were part of SWCorp’s and E-Idaman’s corporate social responsibility programme to assist students and to lighten the financial burden on their families.
Maslin Sham thanked the donors for their generosity. Incidentally, all of the recipients were from his constituency.
“Hopefully, the children can start the New Year on the right footing and place greater emphasis on their studies,” he said.
