Celebrating Tenby Students

Outstanding students in academics and sports of Tenby Schools Ipoh were celebrated in an award ceremony graced by Raja Permaisuri Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim on Monday, April 30 at the school auditorium.

“Tenby Schools has achieved the 5-stars rating in Quality Standards Award for Private Education Institutions. The school has also been chosen by the Malaysia Ministry of Education to run the Dual Language Programme where English is used in the teaching and learning of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics),” Wong Kin Tung, Head of Tenby Schools Ipoh highlighted.

“We are working hard to produce students with a good command of three languages: Malay, English and Mandarin. We are one of the schools in the state to offer the HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) programme which enables students to further their studies in prestigious universities in China,” Wong added.

Present were Jane Kuok, Campus Principal of Tenby Schools Ipoh, Dato’ Haji Mat Lazim bin Idris, Director of State Education Department, Shahrul Azam Bin Shaari, Acting Officer for Kinta District, Toh Muda Dato’ Ab Wahab bin Dato’ Seri Azizul Hassan, Territorial Chief of Kinta and Mark Parkinson, CEO of Tenby Schools Malaysia.

The school’s pass percentage for 2017 was 99% for both UPSR and SPM while 80% for PT3. Meanwhile, the best co-curriculum achievement for the same year was at the swimming category of the Perak Schools Sports Council championship bagging silver for 50-metre freestyle and bronze for 4×100-metre freestyle.

To date, Tenby Schools Ipoh has a total of 1200 pupils. Running on the vision “A United World at Peace – Through Education”, the premier private school offers national curriculum to students of 7 to 17 years of age.
