Fresh Vegetables for the Needy

Perak Women for Women Society (PWW) collaborated with Autoria Sdn Bhd – Toyota – Sales & Service in Ipoh, in arranging and distributing fresh vegetables to many vulnerable people in the community, especially single mothers and their families and disadvantaged women under their care, who are severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order (MCO).

Mr Loke Kok Ming, Managing Director of Autoria Sdn Bhd, personally made arrangements with the farm owners in Cameron Highlands to help with distribution. We are grateful to the Company for their kind and generously prompt social corporate responsibility initiative in getting the vegetables delivered to these single mothers and disadvantaged women. PWW received many calls for food and groceries and we are glad that Mr Loke was able to source fresh vegetables  from many farmers in Cameron Highlands to donate to the vulnerable.

Mr Loke and Autoria Sdn Bhd were able to arrange distribution to as many as 50 poor families at the Bekor Flat in Buntong, Ipoh and to many senior citizens who stay alone in and around Ipoh. The vegetables are little luxuries for them. Many boxes of vegetables too were distributed to Nursing Care homes for the poor, Old Folks Home and the Aslis Community in Chenderiang, who too approached PWW for help.

PWW would also like to thank and acknowledge the prompt delivery and contribution by these farmers in Cameron Highlands – Way Box Vegetables Trading Sdn Bhd, Kok Hong Farm Trading Sdn Bhd, Kea Chai Vegetables Sdn Bhd, Woon Chin & Sons Agriculture Sdn Bhd and Choon Loong Agricultural. Appreciation too to TS Agriculture Products Sdn Bhd, Cameron Highlands, for donating many prepacked boxes of fresh vegetables for easy distribution.
