Kinta Riverfront Hotel and Suites: Closure of Business

Kinta Riverfront Hotel and Suites announces its closure of business via a staff memo dated April 22, citing the COVID-19 crisis which crippled the global tourism industry and losses suffered for months even before the pandemic as the cause.

In the widely-circulated memo of the 4-star rating hotel, Tan Kim Hee, the representative of the hotel’s board of directors and management explained: “…the pandemic has taken a huge impact on us financially as millions of revenues were lost with big amount of room and event cancellations.”

It added: “With the implementation of MCO by the government since March 18, the opportunity for us to regain the losses was made impossible as all travelling activities came to a halt.”

The memo also stated the last working day of the staff shall be on April 30 with compensation packages to be worked out, thanking all for their hard work and commitment.

At time of posting the hotel management is not reachable for comments.
