Yoga for Charity

In a collaboration with Perak Women for Women Society (PWW), ALY Studio in Ipoh presents three virtual yoga classes to be held from June 5 to 7, aimed to raise funds to support the women and children affected by the pandemic.

With a minimum donation of RM20 for three classes, the fundraiser to be held via private group Facebook live, will be conducted by Abbie Chong, Founder of ALY Studio.

Abbie is a certified RYT200 yoga instructor as well as a pre/postnatal yoga instructor. Prior to becoming a yoga teacher, the mother of three has been doing pilates, resistance training, runs and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) among others.

Coordinating the event is Natalie Chan, an Ipoh-born student of the University of Michigan in the US who came up with the idea of a virtual yoga fundraiser. Equally passionate about charity, the biomedical engineering student has been initiating efforts to aid the needy while currently on her summer break back home.

To support this initiative, you can register with Abbie at 012-2265151 or Natalie Chan at 019-5515022

One can also opt to bank into CIMB 8004882245 (PERSATUAN WANITA PERAK UNTUK WANITA). Kindly send a copy of your bank-in slip together with your name right after to the above phone numbers.

Meanwhile, PWW is a long established NGO working tirelessly to assist victims of abuse and other vulnerable people in and around the Ipoh area. During the pandemic, PWW has received a high volume of messages and calls from, among others, those seeking shelter after escaping an abusive relationship and from daily wage earners who simply could not put food on the table in these trying times.

To further empower the work of PWW and to ensure that the vulnerable families have access to warm meals and essential items, PWW has worked with supportive sponsors and donors to raise funds. To date, hundreds of meals have been provided to deserving individuals and families across Perak.
