Pos Malaysia Launches Third Wildflowers Stamp Series

Pos Malaysia’s Wildflowers stamp series is making a comeback, after almost three decades since its last issue in 1993. The collection, entitled  “Wildflowers Series 3”, will be available starting Thursday, July 9 via Pos Malaysia’s online store at www.eziemall.com and all Post Offices nationwide.

For the third instalment, Pos Malaysia is highlighting new species of wildflowers, showcasing Malaysia’s natural wonders. The stamp series with three sheetlets design comprises 10 stamps each that features the Senduduk, Ara Songsang and Bunga Kancing Baju flowers. A total of 750,000 pieces of the stamps (250,000 pieces per design) will be produced in 60 sen, RM1.30 and RM1.50 denominations.

To complement the series, the Miniature Sheet (MS) will be printed with a die-cut and spot UV finishing to accentuate the beauty of the Simpoh Air flower. Pos Malaysia is producing only 20,000 copies of the MS and it will be available for purchase at RM5.00 apiece. The 27,000 copies of First Day Covers (FDC) are also available for purchase at 50 sen each.

The complete folder set can be purchased at RM54.40, comprising three stamp sheets with 10 perforated stamps on each sheet, one loose MS, one FDC with three stamps and one FDC with a MS and a folder. Folders are also available separately at RM6.00 apiece (only 1,500 folders available).

Pos Malaysia’s Group Head of Marketing, Schrene Goh said, “Wildflowers are natural  wonders that are often taken for granted. Our fertile tropical land produces flowers that offer many benefits, on top of their uniqueness and aesthetic value. We are always inspired by Malaysia’s abundant flora and fauna, and this latest stamp series is aimed at highlighting this natural beauty.”

For avid collectors, this series comes with an exclusive cancellation mark featuring another wildflower, the Dandelion, completing the aesthetics of the collection. In view of the Recovery  Movement Control Order (RMCO) period, Pos Malaysia is pleased to extend the cancellation period for three working days starting July 9, for customers to obtain their FDC and cancellation mark.

Wildflowers are plants commonly found along streets, roads, highways, and forest edges. They tend to adapt and thrive well in newly adopted environments due to their ability to produce large quantities of seeds, allowing widespread distribution. Wildflowers are also useful for their medical benefits and as a source of food for insects, animals and even human beings.

The public may sign-up for the Standing Order Deposit Account (SODA) to experience a hassle-free process in purchasing the latest stamp issues as well as enjoying exclusive benefits offered by SODA. Those interested to be part of the SODA community can do so by signing up at any post offices nationwide or online at www.posonline.com.my
