State Government Allocates RM1 Million for Entrepreneurs

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are urged to apply for the Perak Entrepreneur  Grant (GeRUP) as a financial aid for their business starting July 16 till 31 online at https://gerup.smecorp.gov.my.

Dato’ Saarani bin Mohamad, the Executive Councillor for Rural Development, Entrepreneur Development, Cooperative and Consumer Affairs explained that priority is given to micro-entrepreneurs as an initiative to help SMEs with a total allocation of RM1 million. 

“A one-off grant of RM3000 will be channeled via SME Corporation Malaysia to eligible any applicant who is an micro-entrepreneur with annual total sales less than RM300,000 a year or less than 5 employees,” he said during the launch of the grant at the Entrepreneurs Development Centre (PPU) in Ipoh on Thursday, July 16.

Present were the Chief Executive Officer of SME Corporation Malaysia, Noor Azmi Mat Said and the state government secretary, Dato Ahmad Suaidi Abd Rahim. 

Saarani added that the state government has appointed 24 agencies to guide entrepreneurs in filling the online application forms especially the elderly applicants and those in rural areas. 

“The application is made online to enable fast approval and aid can be channeled immediately to entrepreneurs who need it,” he said.
