Original MCO to Return If New Cases Reach Three-Digit Again

The Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the original Movement Control Order (MCO) which came into power in late March, will be executed once more should the number of new COVID-19 positive cases in the country reach three-digit again.

“We’ve no choice but to do so, seeing that the trend of the pandemic is returning to its former unpleasant state,” he said in a news source from the internet.

“Despite the guaranteed interrupted business and work activities, which is exactly what we’re worrying about, the government will not hesitate to execute the original MCO if it comes to an absolute requirement,” Ismail Sabri stressed.

“During this Recovery MCO (RMCO), the society has an important role to play in preventing the further spread of COVID-19 by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the government, but many individuals failed to do so, which increases the risk of infection,” he lamented.

Ismail Sabri expressed hope that in view of the upcoming Hari Raya Haji celebration next weekend, the community adheres to official orders properly for the betterment of everyone, if there are new SOPs or regulations.
