Racial Unity, National Harmony

HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah said that racial and religious unity are key elements to the country’s peace and harmony.

Leaders are reminded to set good examples to the public in instilling respect and understanding between one another.

“National security will be jeopardised if multiracial and religious citizens do not coexist in harmony,” Sultan Nazrin said in his speech at the Aidiladha Celebration and Warrior’s Memorial Day ceremony in Kem Syed Putra yesterday (July 31).

“Only by finding meeting points and appreciating the spirit of unity in diversity, will national security be strengthened,” he added.

HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim graced the ceremony.

Also present were Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar; Raja Puan Besar of Perak, Raja Nazhatul Shima; Raja Dihilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain and Raja Puan Muda of Perak, Tunku Soraya.

Sultan Nazrin also mentioned that those who received both highest ranking gallantry awards, which are Seri Pahlawan Gagah Perkasa (S.P.) and Panglima Gagah Berani (P.G.B.), proved that the national security service was helmed by Malaysians of different races.

“Military and police personnels have sacrificed their lives in defending the country’s independence and maintaining national peace,” Sultan Nazrin expressed. “Team members of national security are heroes of our country.”
