Making English Learning Online Accessible

Direct English International Language Centre (DEILC) in Kuala Lumpur has launched a virtual programme for English language learners to access quality teaching from the comfort of their homes. The Remote Teaching & Learning (RTL) course delivers learning materials directly to students’ doorsteps and conducts classes and workshops via Zoom video call.

DEILC, an English language learning centre under the Melewar Group, is a leading provider of English language training across a range of General and Business-focused English topics.

“We are very excited to bring the benefits of language learning to an even wider audience,” said Cleris Wong, Centre Manager of DEILC, “without compromising the consistency and quality that has become a hallmark of Direct English teaching.”

The initiative comes at a critically important time for the national economy during the pandemic as poor English proficiency has been highlighted as a common concern from an employer’s perspective and a major factor behind unemployment rates.

Students can benefit from modules in the General & Business English courses which are part of the tested and proven Direct English UK Learning System, as well as Conversational English with native and bilingual speakers across a range of themes from sports to health to economics, exam preparation workshops, and more. For added financial flexibility, the new Remote Teaching and Learning offers a non-committal ‘Pay-Per-Session’ package for General & Business English courses, and the ability to withdraw from the course at any time without penalty.

DEILC is also accredited as an authorised centre to provide the Linguaskill test by Cambridge Assessment English to determine students’ English proficiency. The test can be taken online, and participants are awarded a test report from Cambridge Assessment English.
