First Perakian Female Kayakers in Malaysia Book of Records 

In conjunction with the National Day celebration this year, two female government employees in Perak will create history as the first female solo kayakers in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR).

Nur Adilla Abu Hassan, 38, will be kayaking from Tasik Banding to Beting Beras Basah, Bagan Datuk spanning 350km while Saidatul Atiqa Md Isa, 31, will kayak around Danau Toba, Sumatra, Indonesia spanning 200km.

Nur Adilla serves at the Perak Land and Mines Office, while Saidatul Atiqa serves at the Municipal Services Division, Ipoh City Council (MBI).

The solo kayaking mission is expected to last 40 to 43 days. In order to complete the mission, they are currently undergoing intense training under the guidance of national solo kayaker, Murad Mohd Kassim.

According to Nur Adillah, they were undergoing the final-phase training in Pangkor Island to get used to the sea conditions, tides, wave direction, survival and emergency night paddling. 

Saidatul Atiqa from the Royal Malaysian Navy Volunteer Reserve Team hopes that the mission will run smoothly.

Both of them were accompanied by Murad to the office of Ipoh Mayor, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin.
