Ipoh Road Woes to be Resolved in the Near Future

Some RM27.1 million will be allocated for road repavement and upgrade purposes by Ipoh City Council (MBI) at several locations around town.

According to the mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin, the road works will be executed by Puncak Emas Infra Sdn Bhd, a concession company under MBI, starting today (October 15) lasting till November 23.

“Depending on traffic flow and timing, the works will be done mostly at night to avoid jams,” he told reporters in a media session here at MBI today.

“In accordance with the Malaysia Road Record Information System (MARRIS) by Public Works Department (JKR), a total of 25.258 kilometres from 24 roads in Ipoh will be repaved,” Rumaizi added.

The engineering director of MBI, Azman Harun, stated that road works will tentatively start at Jalan Kamaruddin Isa along Fair Park.

“Due to the subpar state Jalan Kamaruddin Isa is left with, we’ll be fixing and repaving the 853-metre long road which is heavily used by the public,” he said.

MBI wishes that Ipohites remain patient and cooperative during the period of road works for the betterment of all in the future.
