Former Finance Admin Assistant Fined RM20,000 for Forging Documents

Former administrative assistant of finance for the Treasury and Information Systems Department of Kampar District Council (MDKpr), Ruddy Nezeri Kamarudin, 38, was fined RM20,000 after pleading guilty to seven charges of falsifying parking coupon payment receipts 10 years ago. 

He confessed to all seven charges read out in front of Judge S Indra Nehru at the Ipoh Sessions Court today (February 18).

Ruddy Nezeri was charged with 34 accusations of cheating via forging receipts of payments for parking coupon sales between February 10, 2011 to August 2, 2011, amounting to more than RM27,000.

He was charged under Section 471 of the Penal Code which is subject to punishment under Section 465 of the same Code. If convicted, he may be imprisoned up to two years or fined or both.

However, Ruddy Nezeri was discharged and acquitted of the remaining 27 charges under Section 171A of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The court ordered for a RM3,000 fine for each of the six charges and RM2,000 for the remaining charge, or imprisonment of two months for each, should he fail to pay for the fines.

Deputy public prosecutor of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Nurul Wahida Jalaluddin conducted the prosecution, while Ruddy Nezeri was unrepresented.
